HOTEL CAMINO MAYA

Hotel Camino Maya was built on 1962, we are over 40 years of tradition. It was the first hotel in Copán Ruinas, before that, travelers and visitors stay in “pensiones”, kind of shelters without facilities as running water, private bath, telephones and no a word to say about air conditioned or hot water.  Under the guidance of a notable man form the region, don Isabel Regalado Guerra, alias don Chavelo, still alive and now at almost 90 years old, the first hotel was inaugurated under the name of Hotel Maya Copán, and remain that until five years ego when some of his daughters decided to renovate and add new facilities to the old building.

Now the hotel has 23 rooms, 19 doubles, two triples and two singles, all with queen beds.  All of them has A/C, private full ceramic bath as well ceramic floors, ceiling fan, telephone, hot water, and cable TV.  Some of them have minibar, hair dryer, and living furniture. The restaurant was totally remodeled, and a business center, an internet café bar was added as well an ice shop.

On a nearby piece of land, over the river Cacahuatales, that runs through the town, a swimming pool, a meeting room (to accommodate about 100 people), and a children playground, have been finished and fully working.  A new discoteque, bar and restaurante already function in the Hotel's Recreational Center. Eventually, new facilities will be added as a jacuzzi, sauna, and adult games as pool.

After its renovation, the new Hotel Camino Maya , has gained renown because of its beautiful premises: the reception is a piece of art; the interior patio is full of lust plants, and its rooms are well decorated, clean and cozy. The kindness of its personnel is now legendary.  It is the only hotel in Copán with a Business Center with internet connection through satellite, and other facilities as photocopies, printing, scanner, etc… The new coffee-bar include the world famous capuchino and latte.
