on the main highway to San Pedro Sula. Among
the monuments that we will visit in this
town are: the Cathedral, the church of Las

day to explore La Esperanza. La Esperanza
is located about 1,600 meters over the sea
level. Due to this altitude the climate
is very cool, thus making it the ideal place
for growing vegetables and fruits. This
cool climate is also the reason why the
local native tribes have conserved great
part of their traditions. La Esperanza is
one of the few places in Honduras where
the culture of the Lencas is still alive.
We will have time enough to get to know
their way of living and to observe how they
produce their typical clothes. Today, we
will visit la Casa de la Cultura and a beautiful
Bosque Enano (forest with small trees).
Overnight at the Hotel Los Dos Pinos. Meals
included: Breakfast and lunch.
DAY 5: After breakfast we will depart La
Esperanza for Gracias. Gracias was founded
in 1536 and its colonial architecture and
charm converts it into a very special place.
Gracias was declared seat of the Audiencia
de los Confines in April 1544, thus converting
it into the capital of Central America and
Honduras during this period of time. We
will visit its colonial churches and afterwards
we will have lunch in a restaurant called
Guancascos which affords a splendid view
of the town. In the afternoon, transfer
to Santa Rosa de Copán where we will
visit its church. Overnight at the Hotel
Elvir. Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.
DAY
6: In the morning after having breakfast,
we will visit a factory where cigars are
produced. Here the whole process of producing
cigars can be observed. Afterwards, we will
go on towards Copán. On our way,
we will visit an archaeological site called
El Puente. There, we will also visit its
interesting museum. On the way to Copán
Ruins we will stop at the Finca Santa Isabel,
a coffee plantation. We will have lunch
there and after lunch we will hike its trails
so that you can see with your own eyes the
process of making coffee, from the plant
nursery to the last processing of the coffee
beans. In the afternoon, we will leave this
peaceful place towards Copán Ruins.
Overnight at the Hotel Marina Copán
or a similar one in Copán Ruins.
Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.
